Ooh, I love that, C — that the energy of certain people helps you reinvigorate. And yes, it does make sense about how the gearing up itself is rewarding. I love your comments – thank you for them!

Hi Julie, I loved this! And it arrived on a day when I particularly need it! When work is busy, busy, there is not always time to take a break. I especially loved the note on shifting to gratitude. I often take mini moments of gratitude. It resets the mind. Thanks for the reminder!

Hi Julie!

I love this! As I read it, it was an aha! for me as I saw how it can play out in my own life in areas where I can push through and find refreshing in the midst of it. :)

Thanks for reading and commenting, Jess! There was some marketing slogan a million years ago about the pause that refreshes — oh, it was Coca-Cola! Breathing – the real pause that refreshes. Also, naturally sugar-free. ;)

Karen – yes, sometimes the real deal nap and slow down is just perfect. (Sounds pretty great right about now, as a matter of fact.) Thank you!

Thank you, Hillary. I like the idea that both restoration and action are present in the breath…

I love that you’re talking about rest and recovery periods, Julie. American culture is all about staying “busy” and there’s very little room for rest – which eventually leads to burnout.

I “refuel” by clearing my schedule and enjoy quiet time at home… reading while cozied up on the couch and enjoying a leisurely nap. It feels so good to slow down and savor life this way…
